Maker Mayek

Education:

BA/LLB (Canberra), GDLP (ANU), LLM (UNSW), MDiP&T (Monash), Solicitor of the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and the High Court of Australia.

Experience:

Mr Mayek was admitted into practice in 2011 and has since consistently practised as a litigation lawyer in many jurisdictions. Throughout the nine years of practice, Mr Mayek has accumulated tremendous experience as a keen and sharp litigator, practising in all State and Commonwealth law courts, across many areas of law, particularly, in civil litigation, commercial litigation, Discrimination Law, property litigation, Insurance, Immigration, Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and criminal litigation.

In addition, Mr Mayek prides himself in community work and advocacy, from which, he is published nationally, in print media.

Mr Mayek is the Chair of the New and Emerging Communities, and Executive Board member, Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Council of Australia (FECCA) and formerly, a board member at the Ethnic Communities’ Council of Victoria (ECCV).

Mr Mayek is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria.
